Long Term Active Capital is a small group of Irish based investors and business owners with a remaining equity fund of €5M.

We are interested in working with smaller SME companies with a long term time horizon.

We actively work in the business with management once we make an investment.

Who are we suitable for

We are ideal for Irish based profit making SME’s where;
  • A trade sale is not desirable or suitable 
  • A management buy-out needs financial and/or other support
  • Owner requires a planned exit strategy, partially or totally
  • Owners wish to generate immediate value but retain stake in the business
  • Businesses requiring capital injection to facilitate growth
  • Venture capital /traditional private equity is not suitable or interested

Preferred Business Types

We are open minded on all SME type opportunities but generally our focus is in the following areas.

  • Specialist manufacturing businesses
  • Importation/distribution businesses
  • B2B service companies

Key Investment Criteria

We look for suitable SME businesses that are suitable for long term holding. Unlike traditional private equity, we are focused on the long term and do not require exit strategies through onward sale of the business in a short time frame.

Our key criteria are;

  • Enterprises should be currently profit-making
  • EBITDA €400,000 or above
  • Based or majority based in Ireland (North or South)
  • Capable of free cash generation

Our Approach

  • We will make quick decisions on proceeding or withdrawing from the process.
  • We do not require any external approval.
  • Where we are interested, we will move quickly and with our best offer
  • We respect the need for confidentiality throughout the process
